Esteghlal manager resigns
MNA – TEHRAN, Amir-Reza Vaezi Ashtiani stepped down as Esteghlal general manager on Monday.
“I couldn’t see eye to eye with the President of Iran’s Physical Education Organization Ali Saeidlu, and his group. I won’t ever return to Esteghlal or think about football again.”
Esteghlal board of directors all submitted their resignations last night.
The Tehran-based team didn’t have a good season and finished third in the Iran Professional league, and was knocked out by Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia in the AFC Champions League round of 16.
