Iran to face Lazio in Italy

MNA – TEHRAN/ROME, Iran football team will play Lazio tomorrow in a friendly match.
The Italian Serie A team will host Afshin Ghotbi’s team in the warm-up game. Lazio played a friendly against Persepolis in Austria in 2006, where they defeated the Iranian football club 4-1.
Iran drew 1-1 with Serbian Red Star Belgrade and defeated Vasas of Hungary in Austria in its two previous warm-up matches in the camp. Iran captain Ali Karimi is out of the game due to a foot injury.
“The main purpose of holding this camp is to find new players for the national team, and I am sure we can do this with the AFC Asian Cup ahead of us, and with the support of the media as well as the Iran Football Federation,” he told AFC.com.
The team returns to Iran after finishing the two-week training camp. The three-time Asian champion is preparing itself for the AFC Asian Cup which will be held in Qatar in January 2011.
