MasoudcelebratingPFDC – PAMPLONA, Spanish Primera Division outfits Real Zaragoza have set their eyes on Iranian offensive allrounder Masoud Shojaei.

The versatile attacking player, who had joined Osasuna from UAE’s Al Sharjah two seasons ago, is not wanted in Pamplona anylonger, as he would be the fourth non-EU player for next season.

Shojaei has a contract until 2011 which includes a 3.5 million Euro buyout clause, however, Osasuna would let him go without charging any transfer fee as long as they would get Shojaei off their payroll.

The Iranian, who reportedly earns about 550.000 Euros per season, could also be loaned to Zaragoza, who are looking for a player who can play in different offensive positions and doesn’t exceed their self-imposed salary cap.

The club who had finished 14th in La Liga last season are therefore very eager to add Shojaei to their squad, as he matches the demanded profile perfectly. However, newspaper ‘El Periodico’ of Aragon reports that beside Zaragoza also another Primera Division club is chasing the 26-year-old Iranian international.

Masoud Shojaei appeared in 69 games for Osasuna, scoring five goals and assisting nine others.
