Team Melli to play China in September

PFDC – BEIJING, Iran will play a friendly match in China on September 3rd, four days before taking on South Korea in Seoul.

Because the period from September 4th to 8th is reserved for international matches by FIFA, all foreign based players could take part in the journey, if coach Afshin Ghotbi decides to add them to the squad.

Beside the two games in East Asia, Iran have scheduled a game against Armenia in Yerevan on August 11 as well as up to four games in the WAFF Championship in Amman in late September, where Team Melli have been grouped with Bahrain and Oman.

There are still three more FIFA matchdays scheduled for October (8th and 12th) and November (17th) 2010. Reportedly Iran might use one of the matchdays in October to play Uzbekistan.

Also a friendly match against Ukraine in February 2011, one month after the 2011 Asian Cup, is still on the cards.
