Ricardo Carvalho’s goal moments after the half-time proved enough for Madrid against Camacho’s men anemic attack.
The first 45 minutes showed very little entertainement and the local fans showed their disappointment.
Los Blancos reacted after the break. In the 48th minutes, Ronaldo’s effort was saved by Ricardo, but the rebound went lose towards Carvalho, who had no trouble beating the goalkeeper from close range.
Madrid should have put the match out of reach for Osasuna, but Ricardo denied Ronaldo and Higuain with fine saves.
However the visitors could not take advantage of their goalkepper’s brilliant performance, not being able to produce any threats for Casillas.
Javad Nekounam played the full 90 minutes, displaying an overall satisfying performance, being one of the better players for Osasuna.
His compatritot Masoud Shojaei was introduced after 67 minutes, but had no impact on the match.
