MNA – TABRIZ, Shahrdari of Tabriz and Zob Ahan football teams shared the points in the Iran’s Professional League (IPL) on Saturday.Zob Ahan was held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Shahrdari at the Yadegare Emam Stadium in Tabriz.
Mehdi Rajabzade gave the lead the visitors just four minutes into the match and Carlos Eduardo equalized the match with one minute remaining in the first half.
The Isfahan based team moved back to the top of the IPL standings table with 25 points followed by Esteghlal and Persepolis both with 24 points.
In another match, Persepolis defeated Steel Azin 2-0 at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in front of about 35,000 fans.
Hadi Norouzi’s header gave Persepolis a lead in the 78th minute and then Shpejtim Arifi took advantage of Steel Azin defender’s blunder in the 89th minute and opened the goal.
“I am satisfied with the way my players played against Steel Azin. We showed a better performance in the second half and defeated our rival,” Persepolis coach Ali Daei said in a post match news conference.
