Daei and Azizi summoned to veterans’ team for peace cup

MNA – TEHRAN, Ali Daei and Khodadad Azizi have been invited to Iran’s veterans’ football team to take part in an international peace tournament in Mexico City.

Iran will participate in the event which will be held from December 4 to 13.

“An organization affiliated to the UN will hold the tournament in December. The teams will take part in the event with their veteran players,” said Abbas Torabian Director of the International Committee of Iran Football Federation (IFF).

A total of 64 players, who are between the ages of 35 to 42, have been summoned to the team.
Torabian said that the organizers sent an invitation to Iran’s embassy in Mexico and asked Iran to join in the competition.

Iran, the U.S., England, Mexico, Guatemala and other countries are going to participate in the event.

The Iranian team will be headed by former Iran and Persepolis striker Homayoon Behzadi.
