ghotbicheeringAFC – TEHRAN,  Iran coach Ashfin Ghotbi has signed up to coach in the J.League, according to media reports.

Ghotbi, who has said he is leaving Team Melli after the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011 finals in January, has reportedly confirmed his move to the biggest league in Asia.

Shimizu S-Pulse are the team he is said to be joining as head coach.

Iran are pooled with Asian champions Iraq, DPR Korea and United Arab Emirates in Group D of the AFC Asian Cup in Doha, Qatar.

Ghotbi, formerly an assistant coach with Korea Republic under Guus Hiddink, Dick Advocaat and Pim Verbeek, has been with Iran just under two years.
