Dejagah refuses to play for Iran in Asian Cup
According to several German and Iranian sources, the Tehran-born striker is worried about his situation in Wolfsburg if he leaves the German Bundesliga for at least one month.
The Iranian Football Federation (IFF) criticized Wolfburg’s management for being non-cooperative. IFF spokesman Khosro Walizadeh said in an interview with Mehr News Agency that the German Bundesliga club refused to release Dejagah.
Furthermore Walizadeh mentioned that Wolfsburg possibly pressurized the former Hertha BSC player to stay in Germany instead of playing for Iran in January.
Walizadeh questioned Wolfsburg’s refusal as the Asian Cup 2011 in Qatar is an official FIFA date.
