PFDC – TEHRAN, Former Iranian national team coach Ali Daei resigned as head coach of the Tehran powerhorse Perspolis after suffering a bitter 1-4 defeat against Saba Battery at the Azadi Stadium on Sunday.

The 41-year old former Iranian football legend who replaced Zlatko Kranjcar in December 2009 wasn’t able to lead the Reds to success after Afshin Ghotbi’s IPL championship victory in 2008.

Perspolis is now ranked seventh in the current IPL season with 27 points.
