Iran’s stadiums are not up to FIFA standards: AFC president
MNA – TEHRAN, Asian Football Federation (AFC) President Mohamed Bin Hammam has said that Iran does not have international standard facilities in its football stadiums.
Bin Hammam, who took part in the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s Football League Organization in Tehran on Tuesday, warned the country’s football officials over lack of quality stadiums.
“Iran is a leading country in Asia. You must uplift your stadiums according to FIFA standards. In my opinion professional football brings business and enjoyment for people,” the high-ranking AFC official, who is from Qatar, said.
“We have walked a long road to make Asian football professional. We have always encountered opposition in this case but overcame obstacles,” Bin Hammam said.
