ipl-logo-huge1MNA – TEHRAN, Masoud Enayat stepped down as director of the Iran Football Federation Referees’ Committee on Tuesday.

He has been heavily criticized for referees’ mistakes in the Iran Professional League.

In one case, referee Saeid Bakhshizadeh made a major blunder last month when he ruled out Mes of Kerman’s goal from the penalty spot against Zob Ahan.

In the penalty kick Mes’ Brazilian player Edinho paused before kicking the ball and according to FIFA rules the kick had to be retaken, but the referee didn’t repeat the shot. Afterwards the Referees’ Committee decided that the match should be replayed.

Hossein Askari will most likely replace Enayat in the post.
