AFC – DOHA, Iran and DPR Korea will clash for the fourth time in the history of the AFC Asian Cup when they meet at the Qatar Sports Club Stadium at 1615 hours on Saturday.
Iran beat Iraq 2-1 in their first match while DPR Korea were held by UAE 0-0.
Going into the match, Team Melli hold the upper hand after winning all three previous encounters.
In the 1980 edition held in Kuwait, Iran twice inflicted defeat on the Koreans. While they won the group stage match 3-2, they scored another victory in the third-place match on a better margin, 3-0.
In the ’92 finals in Japan, Iran blanked their rivals 2-0 in a group match.
