MNA – TEHRAN, Iran football keeper Mehdi Rahmati has said that he will never forget the nightmarish defeat against South Korea in the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.

South Korea’s Yoon Bit Ga Ram opened Iran’s goal in the extra-time at the Qatar SC Stadium.

“Having beaten by South Korea seems like a nightmare for me. When the referee blew the (final) whistle I was feeling as if my heart would stop beating. I don’t know what happened to our team in that match,” Rahmati wrote in his weblog.

“We could have defeated South Korea in the penalty shootout but it is not fair. They were stronger than us and deserved to win,” he added.

“The other Asian teams are well-organized. We need to work hard to have a strong team. Some sports directors criticize the football federation about choosing the head coach and it’s while they are record holder for changing coaches in their teams,” Rahmati concluded.
