Karimi in Valencia for Champions League clash

PFDC – VALENCIA, Ali Karimi is among the 19 Schalke players who flew to Valencia for the first leg of the Champions League second round playoff on Tuesday.

Karimi has yet to debute for Schalke 04, after remaining on the bench in the goalless Bundesliga draw against Dortmund and not making the 18-men-squad for the clas against SC Freiburg.

Schalke will have to do without injured defender Papadopoulos and midfielder Annan, who is not eligible for the Champions League after already participating in a qualification match with his former club Rosenborg this season.

One player wil still be dropped from the squad for the match, which will kick off at 20:45 local time.
