‘Team Omid’ to face Kyrgyzstan in Olympic qualification

Loading...PFDC – TEHRAN, Iran’s U23 football team will host Kyrgyzstan in an Olympic qualifier on Wednesday.
Iran have recently appointed former assistant to Branko Ivankovic and Ali Daei, Human Afazeli (pictured), as coach.
The first leg will kickoff in Azadi stadium at 15:00 local time. The return leg will be played on March 9.
Should ‘Team Omid’ advance to the second round, they will have to survive another two-legged playoff on June 19 and June 23 in order to advance to group stage.
Iran did not qualify for an Olympic games’ men’s football tournament since 1976.
