Esteghlal, Mes play to scoreless draw [VIDEO]

PTV – TEHRAN, Esteghlal has failed to close the gap with first-place Zob Ahan after a scoreless draw against Mes of Kerman in the 25th week of the Iran Premier League (IPL).

Mes stunned second-place Esteghlal in the match, which was played at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Saturday.

Kianoush Rahmati of Esteqlal was stretchered off after a severe head injury in the first half. He was replaced by Farzad Ashoubi.

Thanks to the home draw, the Blues have 45 points, which puts them 3 points behind the league pacesetter Zob Ahan. Mes, with 39 points, stands 6th on the table of the 18-team league.

Earlier in the day, Naft of Tehran defeated Peykan 4-1 to climb to 13th place.

In the other matches on Friday, Foulad of Khuzestan pummeled Naft Abadan 4-1 in Ahvaz, Steel Azin trounced Saba 3-1 at Tehran’s Dastgerdi Stadium, Malavan edged past Rah Ahan 1-0 in Anzali, and Shahin Bushehr saw off Saipa 1-0 in Bushehr.
