Iran among 4 bidders to host FIFA Club World Cup

AP – ZURICH, Iran is among four countries bidding to host FIFA’s Club World Cup in 2013 and 2014.

FIFA says the other candidates are Morocco, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. They must submit official bid documents by Sept. 30.

FIFA’s executive committee is scheduled to choose the host in October.

The knockout competition brings together the champion club of each of FIFA’s six continental confederations plus the host country’s champion.

The UAE has hosted the past two editions in Abu Dhabi, and Japan will host in 2011 and ’12.
