Ali Daei declines Persepolis offer, Estili takes charge
MNA – TEHRAN, Ali Daei rejected Persepolis coaching offer whereas Tehran-based club announced on Tuesday that Hamid Estili will be appointed as new coach.
Daei, who was bound by Persepolis’ technical committee to announce his final decision within the 12 hours, pronounced early Tuesday that he will not be able to accept Persepolis coaching role.
Daei had already spoken out against Persepolis General Manager Habib Kashani and said there was a conspiracy against him in the club. However, shortly after, Daei said that he was ready to sign a blank contract with the club but eventually changed his mind.
Persepolis’ technical committee appointed Hamid Estili as the coach of the team. Former Shahin of Bushehr coach penned a two-year contract with Persepolis.
“I am here to prepare a strong team for the AFC Champions League. I will do my best to accomplish that,” Estili stated.
