‘Gucci’ joins Sint-Truidense of Belgium
PFDC – SINT-TRUIDEN, Iranian striker Reza Ghoochannejhad, nicknamed ‘Gucci’, signed a three-year-contract with Belgian first league side Sint-Truidense.
The Mashad born 23-year-old had played for Heereven, Emmen, Go Ahead Eagles and Cambuur in Dutch first and mainly second division before.
Especially at his last two clubs he impressed with many goals, scoring six goals in just ten matches for Go Ahead Eagels and 15 goals in 37 games for Cambuur.
Ghoochannejhad has played for the Netherlands U19 national team, however, would be eligible for the Iranian national team.
Former Iran coach Afshin Ghotbi had travelled to the Netherlands to observe the striker in action but eventually didn’t include him in the 2011 Asian Cup roster.
Sint-Truidense finished in disappointing 12th position of the table last season and are eager to repeat their 2009/10 success when they finished fourth in the league.
