Tomislav Ivic dies at the age of 77
EUROSPORT – SPLIT, Former Croatia coach Tomislav Ivic has died in hospital in his home town of Split, state television reported on Friday.
The 77-year-old was one of his country’s most successful coaches and won championships in five different countries.
During the 1970s Ivic landed three championships and four domestic cups in the former Yugoslavia with Hajduk Split.
He also went on to win league titles with Ajax Amsterdam, Anderlecht, Porto and Olympique Marseille.
Ivic also had spells as coach of Yugoslavia, Croatia, Iran and United Arab Emirates.
The cause of his death was not immediately known but he had suffered with diabetes for several years.
