MNA – TEHRAN, Iran’s number one goalkeeper Mehdi Rahmati joined Esteghlal on a one-year contract on Tuesday.

“Rahmati, who is one of the Iran’s best keepers, will have to do his best in Esteghlal. I present him to the Esteghlal fans,” club’s general manager Ali Fatollahzade said.

Rahmati won the Iranian league titles twice along with Sepahan of Isfahan in the past two seasons.

He was a member of Esteghlal football team from 2005 to 2007.

The 28-year-old has won 58 caps playing for the Iranian football team.
