Qatar-Iraq match cancelled

AFC – DOHA, The friendly between Qatar and Iraq, which was scheduled to be played on Wednesday, has been cancelled.

The move comes after the Maroons sacked coach Milovan Rajevac earlier this week and replaced him with Brazilian Sebastiao Lazaroni. A spokesman for the Qatar FA said no new date has yet been set for the match.

Rajevac was sacked after Qatar were beaten by Vietnam last month in the second leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier though they managed to advance to the third round on a 4-2 aggregate.

Lazaroni is the third coach to take over the reins of Qatar this year.
