Reds fall short of IPL maiden victory [VIDEO]
PTV – SARCHESHMEH, Persepolis’ hopes for a maiden victory in the fourth week of Iran’s Premier League (IPL) have been dashed by the league bottom-rooted club Mes Sarcheshmeh.
The Reds rallied from two goals behind to save a 2-2 draw against Mes Sarcheshmeh in Kerman on Tuesday.
Mes Sarcheshmeh’s Montenegrin player Nenad Brnovic lobbed the ball into an empty net from the edge of the box just after the kickoff to put the host ahead.
In the 22nd minute of the match, Ali Samereh doubled the lead for Mes Sarcheshmeh on a rebound.
Ali Karimi pulled one back for the Reds in the 37th minute through a free-kick, and Javad Kazemian leveled the scoring from close range on the stroke of half-time.
Persepolis reduced to 10 when Ali Karimi was sent off for a tackle from behind.
Ten-man Persepolis could not make any changes to scoreboard and had to settle for the draw.
The result left the Reds still looking for the first victory of the season with two points from four matches as their archrival Esteghlal sits on the second spot of the table with seven points and one match to go.
In the other matches of the night, Naft Abadan scored an injury-time winner against Mes Kerman, and Shahin and Malavan played out a goalless draw.
