Osasuna draw Atletico Madrid

PFDC – MADRID, Javad Nekounam and CA Osasuna held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw in the first round of Spanish La Liga.

Atletico were the better side and created several good chances, but Osasuna kept a clean sheet thanks to good keeping and some luck.

Nekounam, who will join Iran’s national team on Monday, played solid 90 minutes in midfield and even came close to scoring a goal with a splendid shot, but was denied by Courtois in Atletico’s goal.

His compatriot Masoud Shojaei is still sidelined with a foot injury.
