Iran soccer club hires Blazevic as coach
PTV – KERMAN, Iran’s Mes Kerman Football Club recruits Bosnian-Croat football manager Miroslav Blazevic, who formerly steered the Iranian national squad.
The former football player signed a one-year contract with the club, which is based in Kerman Province in southeastern Iran on Wednesday, IRNA reported.
Blazevic will coach the orange jerseys until the end of the current season of the Iran Pro League (IPL), also known as the Persian Gulf Cup.
Blazevic coached Iran’s National Team in 2001, but failed to help the team qualify for the year’s FIFA Confederations Cup, which was co-hosted by Korea and Japan.
As his most notable achievement, he helped the Croatian national squad of 1998 claim the third seed in the year’s World Cup.
Blazevic has also coached the Swiss and Bosnian national teams.
