Bahrain and Qatar draw in Persian Gulf duel

Loading...PFDC – MANAMA, Bahrain and Qatar struggled to a goalless draw in World Cup qualification in Manama on Friday.
Both teams now stand in second position of group E’s table behind Persian Gulf rivals Iran, who routed Indonesia 3-0 earlier.
Iran will travel to Qatar for Tuesday’s clash while Indonesia will host Bahrain the same day.
Meanwhile Australia and Japan had troubles beating lowly rated Thailand and North Korea 2-1 and 1-0 respectively. South Korea hammered Lebanon 6-0 while Saudi Arabia were held to a goalless draw in Oman on Frank Rijkaard’s debut.
In the other games Kuwait downed the UAE 3-2, Jordan defeated Iraq with coach Zico 2-0, China came from a goal down to edge Singapore 2-1 and Uzbekistan celebrated a 1-0 win over Tajikistan.
