Persepolis acting president resigns
MNA – TEHRAN, Persepolis acting president Habib Kashani submitted his resignation to the minister of Youth and Sports Mohammad Abbasi on Tuesday.
Kashani has been under pressure since the start of Iran’s football season after having a clash with former Persepolis coach Ali Daei, who accused him of cheating.
Persepolis lost to its archrival Esteghlal 2-0 on Friday in Tehran derby that left the most popular Iranian team lingering at the 15th position at the Iran football league table.
Kashani was appointed as Persepolis general manager in 2007 and inspired the team to win the title in the 2007-08 season.
