Great ‘Gucci’ can’t save St. Truiden

PFDC – ST. TRUIDEN, VV St. Truiden’s dismal season continues and only Iranian striker Reza Ghoochannejhad seems trying to change their fortunes, scoring a brace against KAA Gent while STVV blew a 2-0 and a 3-2 lead to finally lose 3-4.

The decisive goal came from the penalty spot in injury time after STVV’s keeper was sent off for the foul.

Ghoochannejhad once more was his team’s best player, scoring his side’s second and third goal, the latter from the penalty spot.

‘Gucci’, as the nimble striker is nicknamed, now has five goals to his tally after eight rounds while St. Truiden only collected one point so far.

Earlier this week, 24-year-old Ghoochannejhad, who had not been listed among the 45 players announced for Iran’s national team clash against Bahrain, scored another goal from the penalty spot to help his team advance to the next round of the domestic Cup with a 3-0 victory.
