Blues hit Zob Ahan to retake IPL top [VIDEO]

PTV – ESFAHAN,Esteqghlal has blanked Zob Ahan to regain the top position of the table in the 11th week of the Iranian Premier League (IPL).

The Blues scored twice in the first half of the match and returned to top of the league’s standings at Isfahan’s Fouladshahr stadium on Saturday.

It took only nine minutes for the Blues to open the scoring when their defender Hanif Omranzadeh headed the ball into back of the net on a long corner kick.

Milad Meydavoudi doubled the lead for the visitors one minute before the break when the unmarked striker converted Farhad Majidi’s right-footed cross into Esteghlal’s second goal of the day with a header at complete ease.

In the other matches of the day, Saba beat Shahrdari 3-1 and Mes Sarcheshmeh downed Naft Abadan 2-1.

The Blues are now sitting atop with 23 points, Naft Tehran is one point adrift in the second spot, followed by Saba on goal difference.
