Ghoochannejhad observed by Queiroz

PFDC – ST. TRUIDEN, STVV striker Reza ‘Gucci’ Ghoochannejhad was observed by Iran’s national team coach Carlos Queiroz in the 2-0 win over Lierse SK on Saturday.

The Mashad-born striker, who has already eight league goals to his tally this season, scored a goal and assisted another in his struggling club’s first victory of the season.

Carlos Queiroz, who had earlier urged Iranian officials to clearify military service issues for foreign grown Iranian players like Ashkan Dejagah, had travelled to the Belgian city of Lier to observe the pacy leftfooter according to several Belgian sources.

The former Real Madrid boss has already expressed his hope to win Dejagah and other players with Iranian roots for Team Melli and might call up Ghoochannejhad alongside the Vfl Wolfsburg striker for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers in Bahrain (November 11) and Indonesia (November 15) when he will announce his squad after this weekend’s Persian Gulf Cup games.
