Eriksson likely to become Persepolis coach

MNA – TEHRAN, Former England coach Sven Goran Eriksson is expected to be appointed as Iran’s Persepolis coach.

The 63-year-old Swede has been offered to coach Iran’s struggling football club with a contract worth one million pounds, British newspaper the Sun reported on its website.

Eriksson is considering a trip to Dubai to meet Persepolis general manager Mohammad Ruyanian within the next few days.

Ruyanian had already said: “We are going to sign a big coach. We have negotiated with Sven Goran Eriksson.”
 
Eriksson has worked in six countries so far. He began his coaching career with two Scandinavian teams, then left his homeland to become Portugal’s Benfica coach.
 
Eriksson led Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio and Sampdoria of Italy. But he disappointed at Manchester City and Notts County and was fired by Leicester City last month.
 
Eriksson has also coached Mexico and Ivory Coast.
