Iranians on target in Persian Gulf leagues [VIDEO]

Loading...PFDC – DOHA/RAS AL-KHAIMAH, Iranian internationals Mohammad-Reza Khalatbari and Pejman Nouri were on target in Qatar and the UAE this week.
On Thursday, Khalatbari scored the 2-0 for Al Gharafa against Al Ahli with a stunning leftfooted shot after just seven minutes.
However, two second half goals by the visitors cost Bruno Metsu’s men victory, the equalizer being scored in injury time.
It was Khalatbari’s second goal for Al Gharafa this season, while also having booked one assist. The club is having a disappointing season so far, currently being ninth among 12 teams and having scored only six goals so far. Only bottom placed Umm Salal scored less goals.
Meanwhile Team Melli defender Hadi Aghily and Al Arabi struggled to a goalless draw on Friday and stand seventh in the table. With only six goals conceded, Al Arabi has the second best defense behind table toppers Lekhwia.
In the UAE, Emirates club negative strain continued as the clubs suffered the fourth consecutive defeat. In the 1-2 loss against Diego Maradona’s Al Wasl, Pejman Nouri scored his first goal for Emirates FC though, who are tenth out of twelve teams now.
