Nosrati and Rezaei punished severely by IFF

PFDC – TEHRAN, Iran’s football federation (IFF) finally announced the verdict for Mohammad Nosrati and Sheys Rezaei.

As expected the IFF overreacted drastically and imposed draconic sanctions on the duo.

Nosrati and Rezaei were suspended by their club Persepolis Tehran last month after conducting “immoral” celebrations during an Iranian league match and were awaiting further punishment from the IFF.

The IFF now fined each of the players 30,000 USD and additionally suspended Nosrati from playing football for ten and Rezaei for even 20 months.

Both players could even face further sanctions from Iranian prosecution.

While Nosrati is still under contract with Persepolis, Rezaei was released by the club. The former Persepolis captain, who had repeatedly violated the disciplinary code of the club in the past, reportedly is seeking his luck abroad now.

The 27-year-old defender arrived in the Netherlands today for a trial with Dutch topclub Twente Enschede.
