Karimi summoned by IFF disciplinary committee
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Persepolis captain Ali Karimi has been summoned by the disciplinary committee of the Iranian Football Federation after he publicly criticized the chairman of the league organization.
On Friday, after his team’s 3-0 loss to Esteghlal in a quarterfinal match of Iran’s Hazfi Cup, Karimi said, “Persepolis was forced to face Esteghlal earlier than we expected. We were not ready to play, but Mr. Aziz Mohammadi obliged us to play at the time he wanted. He must be cautious. Otherwise I will reveal what I know about him.”
On Saturday, IFF disciplinary committee chairman Esmail Hasanzadeh said, “Karimi will be summoned to the committee to explain his statements. Accusing an official is an offence.”
