TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Esteghlal moved six points at the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) after beating Naft Tehran 2-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Saturday.
In the match held in front of about 10, 000 spectators, Esteghlal’s Andranik Teymourian put his side into the lead after 32 minutes.
With four minutes remaining, Hanif Omranzadeh headed in a nice cross from Mojtaba Jabbari to ensure three points for the league leaders.
Esteghlal maintained its leadership of the IPL table with 33 points, followed by Sepahan and Naft with 30 points each.
