Queiroz talks about Iran’s 2012 schedule
PFDC – TEHRAN, Iran coach Carlos Queiroz informed football federation officials and the press about his plans for Iran’s national team in 2012.
A change in the administration has been made – the caretaker position has been removed, instead the tasks will be divided between the rest of the staff from now on.
Ahead of the February 29 World Cup qualifier against Qatar in Tehran, Iran will hold a training camp from February 17 on, including a friendly match against Jordan in Al Wasl’s stadium in Dubai on February 23.
While the legionnaires will be unavailable for the Jordan friendly, they will join the rest of the squad on February 27 for the Qatar game.
From March 23 to 25 the national team will hold a training camp, however, without the legionnaires and without the Iranian league players engaged in the Asian Champions League.
The squad will again be summoned on May 12 in order to prepare for the first two World Cup qualifiers in June, with the final game taking place on June 13.
August 5 will be an opportunity for a friendly match, before three World Cup qualifiers and two additional FIFA matchdays for friendly matches follow in late summer and autumn.
