PFDC – TEHRAN, VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Ashkan Dejagah (25) arrived in Tehran on Tuesday morning ahead of the World Cup 2012 Qualifier against Qatar on next Wednesday.
The Tehran-born German Bundesliga star has joined the Iranian football national team in a training session in the afternoon.
Barely before his departure from Frankfurt International Airport, the 25-year old right winger expressed his great anticipation ahead of his first appearance for his homeland.
It is currently still vague if Iran star coach Carlos Queiroz will give Dejagah a starting spot in an insignificant World Cup Qualifier against Qatar although the Iranian football federation (IFF) fought intensively to convince Dejagah to wear Iran’s jersey.
The training session started at 3.30 pm local time and journalists were allowed to focus their cameras on Dejagah and his new teammates for 15 minutes.
