Persepolis, Damash match halted over fan abuse [VIDEO]
Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Persepolis and Damash football match was halted after some Persepolis fans insulted the referee.
With just seconds remaining, Mahmoud Rafiei stopped the match as fans insulted him in the Iran Professional League in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Saturday.
Nine-man Persepolis was struggling to prevent a 2-1 home defeat but the referee blew the final whistle in the dying moments of the match.
Maziar Zare and Mohammad Nosrati were sent off by Rafiei in the second half, in which the Persepolis’ fans were not satisfied with the referee’s decision.
