Persepolis futsal team dissolved over match-fixing
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Persepolis general manager Mohammad Ruyanian dissolved his futsal team on Tuesday over match-fixing.
In the last week of Iran Futsal League, Persepolis was defeated 12-2 by Gitipasand. The Isfahan-based team won the title with a one goal difference.
“We put players’ performance under scrutiny and found that some of them were involved in match-fixing. Persepolis futsal team has been dissolved and will not participate in the league in the coming season,” Ruyanian said.
Gitipasand will likely be stripped of its title championship.
