PFDC – PAMPLONA, FC Malaga were held to a 1-1 draw by Basque outfit CA Osasuna at Reyno de Navarra on last Monday in La Liga’s 34th round.

In front of 14,000 supporters at Pamplona’s Reyno de Navarra, Medilibar’s men took the lead after 53 minutes with a nice goal by Osasuna’s left winger Nino.

Malaga’s topstars increased the pressure on Osasuna’s famous defense wall and eventually celebrated the equalizer by the Spanish national team player Santiago Cazorla in the 67th minute.

In further consequence, both teams tried to improve their attacking game, but the rate of misdirected passes was too high to turn the tables in favour of any side.

The Iranian international Javad Nekounam again displayed a solid performance over the full 90 minutes. His compatriot Masoud Shojaei is still sidelined due to a heavy injury and will be out until June.

Osasuna are currently ranked 8th in La Liga with 47 points, but still one point away from the sensational Europa League spot.

Wolfsburg’s Dejagah misses opportunity to open the doors to Europe

German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg were held to a 0-0 draw in Mainz on last Saturday. Wolfsburg wasted several chances to win in a blowout and now have to consider themselves satisfied with a goalless draw, which only helped relegation-threatened Mainz to stay in the German Bundesliga.

The Iranian national team player Ashkan Dejagah (25), who returned to the starting line-up after a light injury, was again among the strongest players of the away team and also could have scored the lead for the Wolves (19′).

Wolfsburg are ranked 10th with two remaining matches and 5 points difference to the Europa League spot.
