Dejagah sidelined with pulled hamstring

PFDC – WOLFSBURG, Iranian winger Ashkan Dejagah’s thigh injury was diagnosed as a light straining of the hamstring on Sunday.

The 25-year-old had limped off the pitch in Wolfsburg’s 3-1 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen on Saturday and will definitely be unavailable for the final game of the season in Stuttgart.

Usually needing three to four weeks to recover, the pulled hamstring could rule Dejagah out of most of Iran’s training camp in Turkey starting on May 21 and possibly also of the friendly match against Iraq on May 27.

However, Dejagah’s participation in Iran’s World Cup qualifiers against Uzbekistan in Tashkent on June 3 and Qatar in Tehran on June 12 shouldn’t be in doubt.
