Aguirre will not buckle playing Esteghlal away
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Al Rayyan coach Diego Aguirre said that he is not worried about pressure his team will face from Esteghlal fans in their upcoming match.
Iran’s Esteghlal football team will host Al Rayyan in Tehran’s Azadi 100,000-seat Stadium in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.
“Al Rayyan and Esteghlal are making efforts to advance to the next stage. It’s a very important match for both of us; it’s like a final,” the Uruguayan coach said.
“We will not be worried about Esteghlal’s fans in this match. Al Rayyan can keep its hopes alive to qualify for the next stage, but we are here to defeat Esteghlal. I believe in my players,” Aguirre added.
Al Jazira of the UAE tops Group A, followed by Al Rayyan and Esteghlal with six and five points. Nasaf Qarshi is fourth with only one point.
