Esteghlal leave Al Rayyan no chance [VIDEO]

Loading...PFDC – TEHRAN, Esteghlal Tehran recorded a vital 3-0 win over Qatar’s Al Rayyan in Asian Champions League on Wednesday evening.
In Tehran’s Azadi stadium, the Blues took a 22nd minute lead thanks to Arash Borhani’s penalty kick, following a handplay in the box.
Esmail Sharifat finished off a counter attack on his own after 76 minutes to make it 2-0, despite Borhani had been in excellent position for an easy tap-in, had Sharifat passed the ball to the striker.
Andranik Teymourian had played a great throughball and the nimble winger had beaten the offside.
Borhani finally got his second of the day in the final minute of the game, when playmaker Mojtaba Jabbari excellently inscened him in the area and Borhani had little problems beating the goalkeeper.
Thanks to the victory, Esteghlal (8 points) overtook Al Rayyan (6 points) in the standings of group A. With Al Jazeera of the UAE already having secured the group win with a win over Nasaf Qarshi of Uzbekistan, Esteghlal only need a point in Uzbekistan in two weeks to secure the second spot and qualifcation for the playoffs after having won the direct duel against the Qataris.
