PFDC – MALACCA, Two days after securing their passage to the AFC U22 Championship with the fourth win in as many matches, Iran secured the top spot of the group with a 1-1 draw against Bahrain.

The tiny Persian Gulf island took a surprising lead, but Naft Tehran midfielder Morteza Pouraliganji levelled the scoreline.

Iran also missed a penalty kick, which would have maintained the perfect record.

Alongside Iran, Kuwait qualified for the finals whereas Qatar, Bahrain, Tajikistan and Maldives were eliminated.
