Esteghlal defeats Rah Ahan

PRESS TV – TEHRAN, Esteghlal has defeated Rah Ahan 2-0 in the eighth week of Iran’s Premier League (IPL) to make fans happy after several weeks.

Striker Arash Borhani gave the Blues the lead eight minutes into the match at Azadi stadium in Tehran on Saturday. 

Rah Ahan’s Bahador Abdi failed to score a penalty shot in the first half and missed the best opportunity of Ali Daei’s side to level the match. 

In the 82nd minute, Meysam Baou doubled the lead to take three points home for Amir Ghalenoei’s players. 

Also on Saturday, Zob Ahan claimed a 2-1 victory over Foulad, Fajr Sepasi thrashed Damash 6-1, Saba defeated Gahar Zagros 1-0, and Malavan finished 1-1 with Traktorsazi.

Top three teams in the IPL table are Fajr Sepasi, Naft Tehran, and Sepahan all with 14 points, but Naft Tehran has one game in hand. 

On Sunday, Persepolis takes on Naft Tehran at Azadi stadium.
