TEHRAN TIMES – Persepolis football team failed to end six-match victory drought in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium on Sunday.

Persepolis and Naft played out a goalless draw in front of about 20,000 spectators.

Seven weeks ago, Tehran’s most popular team started the Iran Professional League (IPL) with a win over Sanat Naft, but later on it failed to beat any team.

“I am ashamed of these results. Persepolis is under pressure and our players didn’t believe in themselves. We missed two points against Naft but didn’t let them to open our goal,” Persepolis coach Manuel Jose said.

Naft moves top of the IPL standings table while Persepolis is 14th.
