TEHRAN TIMES – RASHT, Damash has appointed Hamid Derakhshan as its new coach on a two-year deal on Tuesday.

The 53-year-old coach replaced Omid Harandi in the Rasht-based football team.

“We want to finish among the top six teams at the end of the season. That’s why I am here. We need some new players and Mr. Abedini (general manager) accepted to sign new players,” Derakhshan said.

Harandi stepped down as coach of Damash on Saturday after suffering a heavy loss to Fajr.

Damash is 11th in the Iran Professional League standings table.
