Sanat Naft fires its Portuguese coach

TEHRAN TIMES – ABADAN, Jose Alberto Costa was fired by Sanat Naft on Friday, following poor results in Iran Professional League (IPL).
 
The 59-year-old Portuguese was named as head coach of the Abadan-based football team in 2011. Costa had replaced Gholamhossein Peyrovani in Sanat Naft.
 
Sanat Naft is one place above the IPL drop zone with just seven points after 10 weeks.
 
Former Iran football coach Mohammad Mayeli-Kohan is one of the candidates to take charge of the team.
