Coach says Iran ready to beat South Korea
TEHRAN TIMES – TEHRAN, Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz says his team can defeat South Korea.
Iran will meet the Korean team on Tuesday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in Group A of the 2014 World Cup qualifier.
The Portuguese said on Saturday Iran is well-prepared to defeat South Korea.
“We are ready to beat them and get three points. Iran can defeat South Korea if our 100,000 fans would support us in the vital match,” Queiroz said.
“It’s a big responsibility (for us) and our players are concentrating to show a good performance and defeat South Korea,” he added.
Iran is grouped with South Korea, Uzbekistan, Qatar and Lebanon for the final round of the Asian World Cup qualifying stages and need to finish at least second to qualify for Brazil 2014.
Iran is second in Group A, three points under South Korea, who has seven points.
